A fun way to teach and reinforce grammar is to have students create a collaborative grammar book. After the grammar lesson the students each choose a word and write it in a sentence, then they illustrate the sentence. Each student’s page is added to the collaborative book. You can keep a tub of these collaborative books in the classroom library to give students repeated practice and review of the grammar lesson. I make collaborative grammar books at all age levels. Students are required to write a sentence at their level whether simple, compound or complex.
